Chlöe Bailey has released her new mixtape Resurrection, a 13-track project fully produced with Timbaland. The mixtape brings Timbaland back into familiar R&B territory, built around bounce, space, syncopated drums, playful stutters, and his signature rhythmic style.
In a new interview with ExtraTV, Chlöe revealed that Resurrection came together very quickly. She said the project was completed in just two months, with her and Timbaland bouncing ideas back and forth through file sharing and FaceTime. Chlöe also spoke about her admiration for Timbaland and Missy Elliott, saying they have always been major influences on her growth as a producer.
Across the project, Timbaland leans into the sound that made him one of R&B’s most recognizable producers, especially on tracks like Talking Dirty, Hold It, Priorities, and World On Fire. It’s not a major reinvention, and not every moment fully lands, but it works as a solid reminder of what he does well. Chlöe fits nicely into his world, and the project feels more familiar than fresh, but still a decent listen for fans of his classic era.
She also explained how working with Timbaland helped boost her confidence as an artist. According to Chlöe, Timbaland often pushed her to strip songs down to their core feeling, sometimes choosing her original demo vocals instead of more polished and layered versions. Get the mixtape below!
