Beyoncé Talks About The Story Behind ‘Drunk In Love’

Arguably, Beyoncé has become the biggest popstar in the world. While Taylor Swift and Adele might just overtake her in sales, no one has a bigger cultural impact and holds more musical significance than Beysus does today. When we were first introduced to the Houston-born singer in Destiny's Child in the '90s, no-one could have anticipated that Beyoncé would go on to have one of the most successful solo careers of all time. But what are the stories behind the hits that made Beyoncé the Queen B? Here is the story behind the ‘Detail’ and ‘Timbaland’ produced tune ‘Drunk In Love’.

'Drunk In Love' was written while Beyoncé was actually getting drunk. While 'Drunk In Love' wasn't meant to be the lead single off of Beyoncé's self-titled visual album, the way the record was released and the fact that radio execs were just sent the whole record to pick the songs they wanted to play, meant that sheer popularity forced the track into public consciousness. In a making-of video uploaded to YouTube, Beyoncé said that she wrote about 80 songs for the project. "[I]t was the songs that were more effortless for me that stuck around that I still love that I loved a year ago when I recorded them," she said.

Beyoncé Previews Studio Version Of Timbaland & Jay-Z’s ‘Bounce’

 
Almost 2 years ago, Timbaland was planning to release his Shock Value 3 album, and was promoting some of the tunes from the album around the country, and one of those tracks is the so called ‘Bounce’ tune which is actually titled ‘Flossin'’ according to Beyoncé which she just previewed a little teaser of the Studio Version.

I’ve managed to Edit the tune from several Live Performances by Timbaland and added that Old School Timbo Pattern that we all fell in love for. The Edit got viral and it’s actually been called as the Official Demo, but wasn’t really though, anyways it’s good to hear that Timbo didn’t scrap the tune fully, and we’ll get to hear the Studio Version soon I guess, nonetheless, check out my edit below, and the studio preview Here, thanks to Fubu!

Beyoncé Performs Medley With ‘Blow’, ‘Drunk In Love’ & ‘Rocket’ At The VMA’s 2014

Have y’all watched the VMA’s last Sunday, well, related to Timbaland, Beyoncé won the award for ‘Best Collaboration’ with the tune ‘Drunk In Love’, but lost in the Categories ‘Video Of The Year’ with ‘Drunk In Love’ and ‘Best Choreography’ with Michael Jackson’s ‘Love Never Felt So Good’.

Beyoncé shut down the stage of the Forum when she gave the crowd a Mrs. Carter World Tour experience and performed a medley of her songs “Mine”, “Haunted”, “No Angel”, “Jealous”, “Blow”, “Drunk In Love”, “Rocket”, “Partition”, “Superpower”, “Flawless”, “Blue”, “XO.” With Jay-Z and her daughter Blue Ivy watching from the crowd, Beyoncé gave one hell of a performance that will have many talking. After the performance Jay-Z & Blue took the stage to present her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
