Timbaland x People.com Interview, Talks 'Justified' 20 Years After

Timbaland sees the color blue when he makes music. Specifically, a sky blue. That color, which the legendary, Grammy-winning musician says he envisions in his head upon hearing his own production, got even brighter the first time Justin Timberlake sang over one of his beats in 2002, laying down vocals for what would become his debut studio album, Justified.
"When he goes on to sing that first note, blue just gets bright. It's like sunshine," Timbaland, 50, tells PEOPLE two decades after the release of Timberlake's breakthrough solo project. "I introduced him to a sound. And he introduced me to a sound: His tone on top of my music, which allowed my product to shine. It made it like a complete marriage. The music is dope, but both of us together, when you say you need each other, that was it. And you heard it." Read more here.
Justine Skye Talks Working With Timbaland (July 8) (2021)
Dotty sat down with New York R&B artist Justine Skye on The Dotty Show on Apple Music 1 to talk about her new Timbaland-produced album, 'Space & Time’. In the interview Justine discusses whether the pandemic helped her create a better album, working with super-producer Timbaland, her favourite Timbaland music, collaborating with Justin Timberlake, working with Rema and more.
On releasing her album 'Space And Time’….
Oh my gosh, I am so relieved. I've been working on this project for almost a year and it's been such a special process because this is a moment that I'll never get back. In this experience that we went through as a World, this pandemic that we went through, and creating this project during the pandemic, we'll never get that experience again. So I really got to focus in, and I had a lot of space and time to really think about this project and figure out what I wanted my sound to be and how we wanted to present this to the World.
Timbaland x Rolling Stone Interview, Talks The Future Of Music (2021)
Timbaland spoke with Rolling Stone about
what’s coming next for an industry in wild flux.
What’s the single biggest
disruption you expect to happen in music in the next 10 years?
This can be related to technology, business models, genres, live music, music distribution — whatever you have had your eye on. Once in a generation we see some kind of shift in the music business — the last one was from downloads to streaming. The next revolution is going to be in the creator space, where there are millions of kids making music in their bedrooms. The industry is responding by creating platforms for music creators to share their beats, soundpacks, loops, et cetera. The next revolution will be all about that. That’s why we formed [the newly launched music marketplace] Beatclub, which aims to be an important creative hub for the industry.
How about in the next 50 years?
Streaming has really globalized culture in such powerful ways, and I predict that music is going to reflect that. Any local musical movement has the potential to go global in the future.

Timbaland x The Edge Leaders Interview (2019)

By Dave Gordon, thanks to thepestilence.
This year you launched an online masterclass, an instructional series on production and beatmaking. Can you speak to how this has inspired others?
A lot of producers and people that I work with, they tell me that what I’ve explained to them has really moved their career forward. I’m not selfish. I give all my tools. I tell my producers, ‘You can go through my computer, and take all my sounds,’ because I try to better them. They look at me like it’s unreal that I do that. I try to tell people, ‘God made you, and you only. So, I can give you everything that I have, but it’s not going to sound like me. Because God made just me. So, for you, it’s going to help you go further, and have an identity for yourself.’ So, when I explain that to all my students that work under me, they are just in awe. They call me ‘Timbo the King’ but I’m like Jon Snow. I don’t want it – like Game of Thrones. I just give the information because I tell them, ‘You are the next one. You are greater than I ever was. I just broke the wall for you to come in and be who you are.’

Is there anything you advise to help more women get into the industry?
Before it used to be stereotyped – but now you have WondaGurl. I think it’s all about your work ethic. I’m looking for the best female producers. You always see the male dominance, and I’m trying to bring the awareness of women understanding sound. I told the men, whatever y’all are doing, you are vibing to your own beat. If they don’t vibe to it – trash. The women make the world move. They know what, sonically, what is great, and what moves them. As men in music, we follow the women. They won’t say that, but when they go to the club, they don’t start dancing first. They see their girlfriend, then they are going to react. I feel like the women producers really are going to take over. Women producers understand sound and the movement of a woman. I think we are going to see more. I know they say 7% [of producers] are female, but I think we are going to see that go up. The same advice goes for women that goes for men: It’s just all about perseverance and breaking down those barriers.

Timbaland x MensHealth.com Interview, Talks Weight Loss, Addiction & More

Timbaland reveals his fitness and mental health secrets. On Occasion, Tim Mosley will pour a glass of merlot, step through the sliding glass doors of his spacious white Miami home onto a patio perched over Biscayne Bay, and, as evening softens the subtropical heat, gaze out over the waves at the horizon. Known to the world as Timbaland, Mosley has earned this vista. For more than two decades, he has helped propel many of this era’s most successful musicians, including Missy Elliott, Beyoncé, Jay- Z, Drake, Rihanna, and Justin Timberlake. In his run as a producer, performer, and label owner, he has thrived in the mercurial world of popular music. Yet he also understands the elusiveness of that shimmering view.

A few years ago, Mosley was staring into a different kind of emptiness, as the most important things in life—family, finances, and health—tumbled chaotically around him. He almost lost it all, and that threat sparked a renaissance. It’s a journey he’s still on, but it has included years of boxing, dropping more than 100 pounds, and gaining a new perspective. But first he had to kick the drugs. Read the full Interview HERE!
Missy Elliott x Amazom Music Interview, Talks Working With Timbaland (October 22) (2019)

Amazon Music has teamed with Missy Elliott for a new interview to highlight their Rap Rotation and R&B rotation playlists where she talks working with Timbaland. “Timbaland is on ‘Drip Demeanor’ and it’s so amazing just watching him because he truly is a genius. And his cadence, his drum pattern is like no other… When I play something, He’ll most definitely be like ‘no, you should do it like this’ and that’s always been us. And he’ll play something and he’ll go through sounds and I’ll be like ‘oh that’s crazy’ or I’ll be like ‘that’s super wack.’And vice versa.
And you know I think we trust each other because we’ve been knowing each other since high school. For ‘Work It’ I’ll never forget. I went in and I was so happy about my first verse and he was like ‘that’s wack.’ So then I went in the second and he was like ‘I mean… it’s aight.’ So by the fifth time, it’s the verse that y’all hear. And he was like ‘that’s what I’m talking about!’ And I have been like that with records with him too, so we’re always constantly pushing each other.”
Timbaland x OK Magazine Russia Interview, Reveals Working On New Album
Fotos by Ivan Ponomarenko. Timbaland sat down with the Russian OK Magazine where they discussed his new book as well as new projects and a new Timbaland album “It will not be just an album in the traditional sense. Rather, a playlist. I want to show way too much material, I want to cover too many genres - from Latin to African motifs.
I am sure that success will be comparable to the success of my record Shock Value, which I released in 2007. Only this time there will be Shock Value Millenium, because I want to attract Millennials, people born at the beginning of the zero, those who dictate musical fashion to work on the tracks. This very idea of moving with the times really turns me on!” said Timbaland, you can check the whole Interview (In Russian) HERE.
Timbaland x Fatherly.com Interview, Talks ‘Nighttime Symphony’

Timbaland sat down with Fatherly.com where they discussed reaching out to kids with his new book ‘Nighttime Symphony’, raising musical kids and honesty.
So what inspired you to write your first kids’ book? It’s a lovely book, and I think every parent with a young kid will appreciate the subject.
I see things in color. I was always fascinated by color books and flipping pages. I didn’t want to make things too complicated. It’s about bedtime.
Children’s books require you to stick to a specific length, have a message, and be funny without being corny. Writing a children’s book is hard!
You think so? If you have a kid inside you — I think I never grew up because I’m a geek and a music person — it’s fun. I relate to kids so much. It’s so easy to relate to them. If it has a spirit of fun, and yes it has to have a message, and it’s always been hard for me to go to sleep. I don’t think there’s anything like being too corny with kids. It’s not possible.

Here is another interview with Danja, this time around, he has been Interviewed by Rollingstone where he talks about how him and Timbaland created ‘Filthy’ and he also confirmed having only 3 tracks on the album which are 'Filthy', 'Say Something' featuring Chris Stapleton & 'Sauce', check out the Interview below.
Were there a lot of conversations about where you wanted this record to go?
There wasn't much talk, wasn't much game-planning, wasn't a big huddle. By the time I got there, he already had a direction. It was just me falling into what he already had in motion.
In the trailer for the album, he talks a lot about the album reflecting his Tennessee roots. Is that something you noticed in the session?
I did – mostly from him, his energy, how he looked. He wasn't in the studio trying to be dressed up in suits, pretty-boy Justin. He was rugged like how the trailer looks. That was the energy.

Timbaland x Entertainment Interview (2017)
American music producer, rapper and TV personality Timbaland doesn’t feign humility when declaring that he doesn’t have challenges to overcome anymore. “In producing, there are no challenges for me—I’ve been doing it for 20-something years already, it’s no longer a challenge,” Timbaland, aka Tim Mosely, told the Inquirer in a phone interview. “Right now, it’s more like, I want to touch everything in music, dabble in all parts of it.”
He did concede that these days, he thinks a lot about one thing: “I try to be in every soccer or basketball game. I want my sound to be everywhere. That’s the challenge, to figure out how to put my sound in everything that plays music!” Timbaland, whose prior collaborators include Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott, Nelly Furtado, OneRepublic, Drake and the late Aaliyah, is also taking on a different role—as a mentor to aspiring music artists in the reality tilt, “The Pop Game” (Lifetime, Tuesdays, 9 p.m.). The Grammy winner will record and produce the song of the winning aspirant.

Timbaland x Star2.com Interview (2017)
Timbaland is taking some time off crafting chart-topping hits to groom a new generation of pop stars. The 45-year-old songwriter-producer – whose work includes Justin Timberlake’s Sexyback, OneRepublic’s Apologize and Nelly Furtado’s Say It Right – is serving as a coach on The Pop Game, a 10-episode reality series aimed at developing the artistry of five teen singers. “It’s about the future of music. My interest was in being a part of generations and generations to come in terms of music,” Timbaland says.
One of these five aspiring singers – Ashlund Jade, 13, Cravetay, 16, Grant Landis, 17, Ian Grey, 15, Madysyn Rose, 15 – will walk away with a recording contract with Timbaland’s label, Mosley Music Group. Besides The Pop Game, Timbaland recently released a country song with Brad Paisley called Grey Goose Chase. This was rather an unexpected move for him. “I’ve always wanted to do country, I love country. It was something that I wanted to experience and Brad reached out and we made it happen,” he shares.

Timbaland x Idolator.com Interview, Talks Next Generation Of Artists & New Album
What attracted you to The Pop Game?
It’s something I always wanted to do. This is my way of just giving back to music. I love it. It’s not about ratings, it’s about the love of music. I really love my kids. I want to get other producers to do the same thing, to help out with generations to come. You know, that’s what we’re here for. I want to see those kids flourish and make great moves because they’re always going to remember the help that I gave them, you know?
