Anna Margo is releasing a new 'EP' titled 'Swings' on July 10 which she completely produced herself, and while the project shines a spotlight on her own artistic growth, she made it clear that Timbaland played a huge role in helping her reach this point. In a new interview with The Aquarian, Anna described Timbaland as both a mentor and collaborator who encouraged her to take more creative risks.
She revealed that one of their first conversations became a full-circle moment after she told him she had actually learned beat-making through his masterclass before they ever met. According to Anna, working with Timbaland gave her the confidence to experiment with new sounds and push her songwriting and production further than ever before. She says that growth can be heard throughout the new EP.
"I met [Timbaland] completely on accident. I took his master class on beat making. A fan direct messaged me that he was on Tik-Tok Live and that he was listening to random fans’ music. I went live with him, played him my first two songs, and he wanted to work with me right away. I thought that was the end of that experience. I thought I got the stamp of approval of him and that would be it, but he ended up flying me to Miami. He is a mentor and a friend now. He treated me as a colleague in the studio."
