Pusha T. On Aggressive 'Darkest Before Dawn' LP, King Push: Darkest Before Dawn (Official Film Trailer) (2015)

Pusha T. is in popular demand. The Virginia rapper -- formerly of the rap duo with his brother No Malice called Clipse -- and newly appointed president of G.O.O.D. Music has been on his press run for weeks since launching his new Adidas sneaker (Nov. 13) and announcing that his highly anticipated project King Push will now be a two-part album. The first half, called Darkest Before Dawn, will roll out Dec. 18 while the next installment is due sometime in spring.

On a brisk winter night in New York City (Nov. 24), the multi-hyphenate has a warm and pleasant demeanor after doing what looked like two days' worth of interviews on Twitter. He apologizes for running nearly two hours behind schedule but is the type to get excited over a fancy legal pad and pen in one of the meeting rooms called The Library at the Dream Downtown Hotel. He has some grievances to air out, though.

Pusha T. Reveals More Timbaland Beats On ’King Push’

Pusha T. had a listening session and there's a bunch of info on the album now. Pusha revealed that there will be 2 albums coming out and the album's full title is ’King Push: Darkest Before Dawn...The Prequel’ which will be followed by ’The Prelude’. In a hole-in-the-wall joint in New York’s Chinatown, Pusha T was flexing as a business man. And it was in that spirit the newly appointed G.O.O.D. Music president unveiled several tracks from his forthcoming album, King Push.

"This is the music that I like and I think this is the music that you guys love from me," he told the crowd of stylistas, sneakerheads and press. Before blasting King Push through the concert-sized speakers, he name-dropped several of the project’s producers including Kanye West, Timbaland, Puff Daddy, Boi-1da and Q-Tip. One track called "More Famous Than Rich" depicted Pusha's hot take on the rap game and the desire for fame over money. "It ain't never been like that with me," he said about The-Dream-assisted track.
