Timbaland & 50 Cent Want To Monetize Hang W/ For Creators

Image Hosted by UploadHouse.com
Hang w/, a social media app that works in the competition-free world of video hosting, has just announced plans to allow advertising on the mobile app which in turn will create profit-sharing income for creators. The app, whose early investors include musicians 50 Cent and Timbaland, plans on unveiling the revenue-sharing system on Nov. 3 of this year, with creators earning 25 percent of the income their broadcasts earn.

“I believe the real money is going to be earned not just by the household names, but by these kids who are living the life of an artist, and sharing it live,” said Timothy ‘Timbaland’ Mosley, Grammy Award-winning producer of Jay Z, Justin Timberlake and others. “Hang w/ is the future. I watch the kids broadcasting on this app and I can see who’s next.”

Hang w/ works by allowing fans to interact directly with creators via live video releases so they know it isn’t just some publicist pretending to be the star while sending out tweets or posting on Facebook. According to the site’s press release, spending for the Mobile Advertising Market hit $18 Billion in 2014 and is predicted to reach $42 Billion by 2017. Alright then.

50 Cent Talks About Timbaland’s Involment With SMS Headphones

50 Cent sat down with the Wall Street Journal this past week, where he discussed the success of his SMS Audio line. First, he explains how high-profile investors Timbaland and Carmelo Anthony become involved, and why those partnerships were important. "It's the things we've been doing for a long time without being conscious of it," explains 50. "Like the major companies -- Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini -- they don't make car commercials because music culture has been their commercial.

For all that time, we take those things and create the music videos that would constantly have it have representation to the general public without them spending the marketing dollars."
Later, Fif and partner Brian Nohe revealed plans to announce a partnership with a major tech company, and the possibility of a future acquisition or merger. "There's certainly enough room for major players [in the premium headphones category]," says Nohe.

"The industry is evolving to really look at the delivery system, the headphone device, the iPhone or Android, and they're starting to see these things as an ecosystem that you work with. So, yea, there's plenty of room. "We're working with a major technological company and soon to announce a very major new product." Thanks to thepestilence.

50 Cent Bigs Up Timbaland

Image Hosted by UploadHouse.com
G-Unit head 50 Cent recently discussed his growing SMS Audio headphones line and why key investors like Timbaland and Carmelo Anthony are key examples of its growth. Fif noted how much value a business partner like Timbaland brings to his line based on his background as a Grammy award-winning producer. "He actually helps create the signature sound for SMS Audio," Fif said referring to Timbaland.

"It's exciting to have the collaborations because these guys have a strong passion for music. Carmelo, most professional athletes have a passion for it because it's a lot of physical discipline involved, we can take it down to the basics the way we would actually utilize it on the treadmill or just keeping ourselves health."

50 Cent SMS Audio (Studio Master Sound)

I've been waiting to give you guys a little more concrete background about Timbo's latest business venture, and now we can see what he's investing into, 50's newest product Studio Master Audio, which is basically similar to Beats Audio by Dr Dre, only this time 50 Cent is the creative mind behind it with Timbaland being the financial backer:

The one interesting thing to note is that Tim may possibly one day make his own headsets for high quality audio listening and it would definitely catch on, especially since Tim invested into the MAXD Tech for HD Audio.
So looks as if we'll be receiving quality music this year....
